Mrs. Pope and his visitor

Today we had a visitor! His name was Mr. Pope and he was the best story teller and his stories were real not like ponies and dragons like his chilhood. He told use lots of things like how long and how to brush. And he had a horse that shots water and has larger teeth than I or all the other kids in the room. And I got to brush his large teeth but I had to do it for 2 minutes but as I  was brush he shot a good shot at my eyes and face!!! We stared laughing at that because it sprayed like a water gun at the end he sprayed as long as he got hold his breath( I think). We got gifts from him and it was a tooth brush,tooth paste and flose!!!!

Lewis and Clark

Recently we have been learning about Lewis and Clark. We learned the accidents, things they traded, Indian tribes they met, pretty much everything that people have learned. I have some friends that would love to share their Prezi or Glogster with you. We tried our best to include the MOST important information, not just things you could learn too easily. Some of my friends are still finishing up, so I'll wait until they are done to post something.

Recently we have been learning about measurement. We have been learning about the Metric system lately. Funny, because my mom says that we don't even use it here in the United States. Everyone else does though!! We have used the hand a lot, well, in different ways. Like to help us with how many meters in a kilometer. The answer is 1,000 by the way. It's hard to explain.....

The Electricity Interview

Today we had an interview with KCP&L. They taught us all the dangers of electricity and how to keep away from them. We saw examples of some on a video, but I'm pretty sure we are more mature and wise than the people in the video. They also brought some stuff so we could see it FOR REAL and that definitely proved everything they said. They showed how if a person puts a ladder on the wire, and then touches it, then the electricity travels to them. We also learned if a wire falls on your car, stay in it. If you HAVE to get out, jump out and land with both feet on the ground and shuffle for as long as you can. You do this because you could get electrocuted once you touch the ground, because you were in the car, so it used you to transport electricity through you. Also, don't touch the car once your out. It could electrocute you. Trust me, it sounded and looked scary when I saw this. I learned a lot, and you learned some from me, and I think we will both need this information in the future!

Following the Pioneer's Trail

Lately we have been following the pioneer's trail of past. We have learned about accidents, camping, problems they ran into,etc. We also learned about people who have lived in the past like Laura Ingalls Wilder. We have learned so much about them, that we could probably write a book about how being a pioneer has its difficulties and of course, some fun. However, I was in Costa Rica while this was happening.
